Trying out "Blooper," a Tool That Allows Anyone to Design Stories

Intuitive Story Creation Flow and its Potential
Blooper(Blooper.ai) is a next-generation storytelling support tool that allows you to consistently construct everything from scripts to character designs, storyboards, and pitch decks.
1. Amazing Script-Driven Automatic Expansion
First, I tried it with the Japanese folktale "Momotaro," which everyone in Japan knows. Original work: "Momotaro" Masao Kusuyama (Aozora Bunko) https://www.aozora.gr.jp/cards/000329/files/18376_12100.html
What surprised me first was that simply pasting the Japanese text of "Momotaro" from Aozora Bunko automatically supplements character generation, scene division, and shot creation. The support for long contexts of 50,000 characters is also attractive.
However, the art style is Western-style realism. The image generation engine used is not clearly specified, and it was difficult to understand which parts were extracted as "highlights."

After entering the story, drag image materials using the inspiration board.

2. Character Design Function is Impressive
Once this is done, it's time for character design. The characters that appeared were "Grandmother," "Grandfather," and "Momotaro." All of them had a realistic pencil sketch style, maintaining a consistent tone, and were of quality that could be used directly in presentation materials.

However, doubts remain. Why don't animal characters (dog, monkey, pheasant) or the enemy characters, the ogres, appear? Further verification is needed to determine whether they are intended to be added later in the story, or whether there is a limit to the number of characters.
3. Flexibility of Storyboard Editing
The storyboard editing is very user-friendly, with both table format (timeline/table view) and card format (board view) being switchable.

- You can add "seconds," "location," "dialogue," "narration," "character movements," etc. to each shot.
- Rearrange the order of cards by drag & drop
- Easy to visually grasp the division for each scene
Is the right side the shot plan?

I think it's a very intuitive editing experience for screenwriters, filmmakers, and educators.
I Tried Using it to Scenarize a Blog Article
I will use it with the idea of scripting a blog article.
How about this article, which seems to be quite difficult? ・Statements and dialogue at the anti-AI rally #Annecy2025
Create a new project and upload it as text.
By proceeding from script → mood board → character design → storyboard → pitch deck, character designs and storyboards are created.

Desired Improvements (Especially in the Japanese Environment)
✅ 500 Error During Export
When exporting with multiple shots included, an Internal Server Error (500) occurs frequently. The cause is unknown, but I get the impression that it would be a big loss if I couldn't export it even after it was completed. However, I think the email sharing function is an interesting gimmick.

UI is in English
I tried using the browser's translation function in Japanese, but there weren't any particularly troubling elements. However, the Japanese film, theater, and script industries have unique formats such as "vertical writing culture," "parenthetical directions," and "character name lines," so flexibility to accommodate these formats is likely to be required.
✅ Mood Board Image Loading is Unstable
Is ChatGPT used internally for the inspiration board? The image generation engine might be usable for character designs for overseas use. Also, it would be more approachable to allow users to select Stable Diffusion (StabilityAI) systems that can be used commercially, or to use APIs such as ComfyUI or NanoBanana for image generation in the first place, or to link with Adobe Stock / Pinterest, which are often used in the video industry.
Overall: Can be Expected as an Education/Video Production Tool
I felt that it has the potential to be fully utilized in Japan in the following scenes:
- Storytelling in educational settings (language arts, ethics, English, etc.)
- Sharing ideas in the pre-production stage of anime and manga
- Prototyping in conjunction with AI video generation tools such as Veo and Wan
- Translation/storyboard support for multilingual delivery such as Netflix
If it is further brushed up in the future, I felt that it could be a considerable asset in the fields of creative education and prototyping in Japan.
