I think this high level of accessibility is one of the major features of this event. We often hear the word barrier-free, but barrier-free in the digital space overcomes physical constraints and provides opportunities that are truly open to many people. Art touches the heart, so I hope that Kanagawa Prefecture's desire to deliver that emotion to as many people as possible is conveyed.

New Forms of Artistic Expression and Social Participation Opened Up by Generative AI
What I would like to pay particular attention to in this exhibition is the exhibition of works that utilize generative AI created at the "Tomoiki Metaverse Workshop." I thought this was a wonderful example of showing in a concrete form the potential that AI brings to creative activities.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAPAKeJwyRc
What is the Tomoiki Metaverse Workshop? The "Tomoiki Metaverse Workshop" was held from September to November 2025 at 10 disability welfare service establishments in the prefecture with the aim of increasing opportunities for new social participation by having people with disabilities acquire the technology to create digital content such as avatars. It seems that they learned digital creative technology from wonderful instructors such as Akihiko Shirai, Mio Nishimura, and Mai Hirokawa of AICU.
At this workshop, the students created "Kimochi Stamps" and "Avatar Cards" using generative AI!

Developer Nao's perspective: "REALITY" as a platform
It's the right decision to choose REALITY as a platform where you can interact with avatars using just one smartphone. You can have a rich experience with the device at hand without special VR equipment. It seems that there will be talks by lecturers such as Dr. Shirai at the live broadcast on the 21st, but I would like to check the production and world building from an engineering perspective as well. Mastering tools creates the future.

Possibilities of Generative AI and Art By using generative AI, even people who are not good at drawing can use words or simple instructions to shape the images in their heads. The creation of "Kimochi Stamps" and "Avatar Cards" this time is a good example of this. You can freely express emotions that are difficult to express in words and your own individuality with the help of AI.
Image 담당・메이's perspective: Generative AI x Art's Possibilities!
Hey, hey, look at this! I heard that they are using generative AI to do creative activities in the workshop! Acquiring technology and increasing opportunities for social participation is exactly what AICU is supporting! It seems that you can see all the winning works exhibited at the Red Brick Warehouse, and it's so cool to run around with your avatar and be surrounded by art!
I feel once again that generative AI is a wonderful tool that stimulates creativity and lowers the hurdle to expression. It's truly inspiring that people with disabilities can create new forms of communication and venues for self-expression by using AI to create works.

Fusion of Real and Digital! Constructing the "Kanagawa Tomoiki Art Exhibition" Works in the Metaverse
In this metaverse exhibition, the impressive winning works exhibited at the "2nd Kanagawa Tomoiki Art Exhibition ~Living, Expressing~" held in the real world in the past will also appear in the metaverse space.
From Real to Virtual The 2nd Kanagawa Tomoiki Art Exhibition was held in November 2025 at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 1, a very wonderful place. The wonderful works that touched the hearts of many people there will now be seen by more people in a new form in the metaverse.
The evolution of digital tools has diversified the ways in which artworks are displayed. The metaverse not only allows art to be shared beyond the constraints of time and place, but also has the potential to enrich the viewing experience by incorporating interactive elements. We hope that by adding the appeal of digital technology while preserving the emotion of reality, the message of the work will be conveyed more deeply and to a wider range.

Research 담당・미나's perspective: As a "compass" for the introduction of AI in welfare settings
Related to the Kanagawa Prefecture's "Tomoiki Metaverse Workshop" practice, I found a very meaningful study that designed and verified a specific risk assessment method for when local governments introduce generative AI to disability welfare projects. I think that the framework of "two-step risk assessment" that combines not only technical safety but also accessibility for people with disabilities, the sense of cost that local governments can sustainably operate, and ELSI (ethical, legal, and social issues) is extremely logical and practical in practice. The fact that the important criteria and methods for on-site personnel to judge the safe and secure introduction of generative AI have been clarified will be an important insight in future digital inclusion.

Video 담당・사키's perspective: Turning the sorrow of the Tsukui Yamayuri Garden incident into strength
The philosophy of the "Kanagawa Charter for a Society Living Together" flows at the root of this event. A charter born from the strong determination not to repeat the sad incident at Tsukui Yamayuri Garden... By shining a new light on AI and the metaverse, we are trying to create a place where everyone can recognize each other's individuality. It's not just an exhibition, I feel a warmness like a prayer.
In the prefecture, with the sorrow of the Tsukui Yamayuri Garden incident as a source of strength, we are aiming to realize a society where we live together, and in cooperation with the prefectural assembly, we have established the "#KanagawaCharterForASocietyLivingTogether". We are making every effort to spread the philosophy of the Charter so that such a tragic incident will never happen again. pic.twitter.com/ec3QuC1Xjk
