Hello! I'm Mei Soleil from "AICU, which creates people who create in the AI era," and I'm here to bring you exciting event information! I'm Mei Soleil, in charge of image generation! Hey, what would you think if you heard that "your movements can become high-quality animation as is"? Isn't that amazing!?

I heard that there will be a tour at Zuper Zoos' AI animation studio "Eins" in Ekoda, Tokyo on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th, 2026! It seems that there will be a demonstration of the latest technology that allows you to use live-action know-how as is for AI animation!!

■ Planning concept

"Desert Concert" of a girl and a bear drawn with AI animation

An unusual acoustic singer-songwriter unit by an illustrator and sound designer "COFFEE and RiCE." A music video is planned and produced in which a girl traveling through the desert and a mysterious bear she meets there perform an acoustic live performance by only the two of them, with the artists themselves appearing in live-action and also becoming animated characters.

■ Production points

POINT 01 Flexible shooting of "free performance"

In conjunction with camera tracking, we dared to do "handheld shooting." The camera and background location are linked to match the performer's groove, creating a realistic video!

POINT 02 "Physical production" creates "realistic hair fluttering"

Recorded while blowing wind with a fan. By having AI read the movement of the hair, the natural sway that makes you feel the "desert wind" is reproduced even after animation. Analog ingenuity can also be used in the digital world.

POINT 03 Unique shooting technique utilizing "face masks"

The performer wears a "face mask" with a character drawn on it. AI recognizes the outline of the mask as a guide, allowing for animation without distorting facial features even in scenes with large movements.

POINT 04 Efficiency through virtual sets

The desert in the background was created with Unreal Engine. Instantly switch between "day" and "night" with just lighting operations, without waiting for set changes. We finished shooting many cuts in just 4 hours.

Leader Elena's perspective: A place where thoughts take shape

"Um... I think the character's expressions are very important in animation. Zuper Zoos' technology uses AI to animate the delicate performances of humans, so "emotions" are conveyed firmly. It's like a dream that something you worked hard to act can become a wonderful animation♪ I'm a little curious to see how my movements will change...///"

Image 담당・Mei's perspective: Reproducibility and speed are key!

That's right! That's what's important! At this tour, there will be demonstrations of real-time camera tracking and virtual set photography using Unreal Engine. Since it's based on the actual 'movements' rather than just prompts, there seems to be less character breakdown. I've also checked the URL of the application form, so creators should check it out early!

Investigation, Ethics 담당・Mina's perspective: Legal and technical reliability

① Zuper Zoos LLC, which operates this studio, was founded by live-action film director Ryo Nakajima, and is based on professional knowledge of video production. ② From the perspective of copyright and portrait rights, rotoscoping using AI technology has the advantage of making it easier to build a clean production system because there is a clear source of live-action materials. ③ Furthermore, Director Nakajima has been using equipment such as 20 optical motion capture devices for many years and has experience in fields such as live-action films, dramas, documentaries, special effects, and VFX, so his perspective of developing new fields of expression also supports legal and technical reliability. I feel it's a very logical evolution.

Technology 담당・Nao's perspective: The appeal as a cutting-edge video development environment for professionals

I'm focusing on the collaboration between 'LinkBox' and 'Unreal Engine'. An environment where you can synthesize with virtual sets in real time is stimulating for engineers, isn't it? It significantly reduces the conventional rendering waiting time, and the use of SDKs and tools in a film and broadcasting station-level equipment environment built with HD-SDI for professional cameras directly leads to quality. This kind of hands-on technical explanation is the best "treat".

Video 담당・Saki's perspective: The aesthetics of dissolving boundaries

Dissolving the boundaries between live-action and animation... The method advocated by Director Nakajima doesn't just seem to be about efficiency, but about exploring a new video aesthetic. How are the shadows, the shaking of the fingertips, and the 'rawness' unique to live-action abstracted through AI? There seems to be a business card exchange event, so it's worth going to soak up the atmosphere of the site.
